Engine Compatibility
This nut appears across a wide range of Mercury and MerCruiser applications, including 65 Jet / 75 EFI / 80 EFI / 90 EFI 4-stroke outboards, Bravo drives, Verado, Zeus 3000, and various sterndrive and inboard packages. Because hardware items like this can show up in multiple assemblies, fitment should still be confirmed by exact model and serial number before ordering.

Serial Number Fitment Notice
Please confirm fitment by engine, drive, or transom serial number before ordering. Mercurys parts catalog is the safest way to verify the exact diagram and callout for this nut.

When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace this nut when the original is cracked, stripped, damaged, distorted, missing, or no longer retaining proper clamping force. Because it is a nylon hardware component, replacement is typically condition-based or tied to service work on the related assembly.

Installation Notes
Install only on the correct Mercury application and verify the removed part against the part number, thread specification, serial number, and assembly location before ordering. Matching the original hardware exactly is the safest approach.
