• OEM hardware component

Engine Compatibility
Available references clearly confirm the part identity, and one application listing places 89229 in a power steering cylinder schematic for a MerCruiser 320 (EFI) GM 350 V-8 19881989 application. Because hardware items like clevis pins can appear across multiple assemblies, fitment should still be confirmed by exact engine or drive model and serial number before ordering.

Serial Number Fitment Notice
Please confirm fitment by engine or drive serial number before ordering. Mercurys parts catalog is the best source for matching the exact assembly and part callout.

When This Part Needs Replacement
Replace this clevis pin when the original is bent, worn, corroded, damaged, loose, or missing, or whenever the connected linkage no longer retains proper fit. This guidance follows the parts role as a linkage-retention hardware component.

Installation Notes
Install only on the correct Mercury application and verify the removed part against the part number, serial number, and linkage location before ordering. Matching the original pin exactly is the safest approach for OEM hardware.

Parts Desk Insight
The strongest verified detail is the part identity itself: 89229 is a genuine Mercury clevis pin. For Marisol Marine, the safest sale is against the exact serial number and removed-part match, especially since small linkage hardware can be used in more than one assembly.
