R & D Marine Double Acting Shear Loaded Engine Mounts. The R & D Double Acting Shear Mount is a unique mount incorporating 2 rubber elements which are pre-loaded against each other, giving excellent isolation together with good control on problem installations. Designed for marine use, accepts propeller and engine thrust in both directions.

  • Offers a fail safe design
  • R & D Mounts are height adjustable
  • Pre-loaded to reduce movement (0.19)
  • Slotted holes in base to assist in alignment
  • Mount types to fit all applications

The R & D Engine Mounts are designed specifically for the rigors of marine applications. The mounts are stiff enough to absorb forward and reverse propeller thrust, yet soft enough to isolate drivetrain vibrations from the hull. To help increase the longevity of the mounts, all steel parts are zinc plated and pasivated to limit corrosion. The rubber component is covered by an oil shield to protect it from petroleum based products.

The R&D Engine Mounts are specifically designed for the rigors ofmarine, industrial, commercial, and heavy equipment applications. These engine mounts are pre-loaded to provide a dampening effectwhen encountering upward or downward pressure. Most R&D mountsare shear loaded to absorb forward and reverse thrust, yet soft enoughto isolate engine vibrations from the surface where they are mounted. To assist in the ease of installation, the mounts have nuts to adjust theheight. The slotted holes in the base of the mount assist in alignmentand installation. To help increase the longevity of the mounts, all steel parts are zincplated and passivated to limit corrosion. The threads of the stud arerolled and reduce the possibility of shearing the stud. This technologyproduces a significantly stronger thread than possible when thematerial is cut away in conventional cut-thread die methods. Morespecifically, the thread rolling (cold forming) process strengthens thethread in three ways: tension, shear, and fatigue resistance. The rubbercomponent is covered by an oil shield to protect the rubber frompetroleum based products.
